SCS Annual Gathering
We were delighted to welcome our Patron, The Princess Royal, to our Gathering at St Ninian's Episcopal Cathedral in Perth in December 2005. She met many of our members, and participants also enjoyed music from the Cathedral choir. Several of the interesting Perth city centre churches were specially opened for guests to tour.

The next ten years ...
Following a wonderful ten-year achievement in developing the Scheme to its current size and level of activity, the Trustees and Executive Committee believe the time is right for review. We have already agreed to pilot a regional booklet, Churches to Visit in Perthshire, and are looking carefully at other aspects of publications, membership, funding and other initiatives.

The President of the Scheme, Lady Marion Fraser LT, says: "At a time when places of worship do not have the automatic response once expected at the heart of every neighbourhood, we have a real desire to see them used and appreciated.

"Over ten years, much ground-breaking work has been achieved through our Director and Local Representatives who see at first hand the enlivening of congregations and their increased appreciation of what they have to offer.

"The can share what is important - precious - to them and others ecumenically, as well as stretching out welcoming hands to strangers. "
